Retreats for Mental Health Professionals

Clinician Retreats are specifically designed for health professionals interested in learning how to incorporate mindfulness into their clinical practice and daily lives. Our retreats offer an annual retreat for health professionals in Far North Queensland, Thailand and Bali which offers a variety of activities and new learning opportunities. During the retreat your mindfulness sessions will be guided by one of our trained practitioners through mindfulness based breathing, mindful walking and other mindfulness based strategies for you and your clients. The Retreat provides you with an experiential understanding of mindfulness and aims to teach you the tools that will enable you to incorporate this practice into your daily and work lives.

Who are our Retreats for? 

Entry is open to all health professionals of any modality who have an understanding of mindfulness and a commitment to further their practice in mindfulness and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) or Somatic Trauma Therapy (STT).

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Retreats: The DBT retreat will focus on DBT Foundation skills which have been shown to be effective when working with individuals with emotion regulation difficulties and borderline personality disorder.

Bali Retreat (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)  Thailand Retreat (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)

Somatic Trauma Therapy Retreats: The STT retreat will focus on STT Foundation strategies which have been found to assist stabilise individuals with a diagnosis of PTSD, ASR and trauma histories.

Bali Retreat (Safe Trauma Therapy)  Thailand Retreat (Safe Trauma Therapy)

Proof of professional background as well as a written statement on your clinical experience, mindfulness practice experience and retreat goals is required prior to attending the retreat. Completion of this retreat will be acknowledged with a certificate of attendance.

Retreat Size 

The number of participants will be limited to 30 people per with a preference of 25 participants.

Retreat Fee:

Participants are expected to arrange their own flights. The fee is from $3,000 for the full 5 Day retreat experience, or from $1,500 if you would like to access your own accomodation and meals. For clinicians wanting to commence a payment plan the Centre for Mental Health Education accepts a deposit and 6 month direct debit payment plan.

Peter is the CEO of the Centre for Mental Health Education specialising in educating mental health professionals in effective approaches when managing extreme emotion dysregulation, borderline personality disorder and PTSD using approaches such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Somatic Trauma Therapy.
